Easter Sunday

I know I am a week late, but we have been busy. We had an absolutely wonderful Easter. We went to the Sunrise service at church followed by breakfast, Sunday School and regular Church service. Pastor Tony gave a wonderful message. Then we had a big family dinner. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our Lord! Here are the girls in their Easter dresses: (as you will be able to tell - Victoria lost interest in having her picture taken really quick, but Elizabeth did well)

The Letter E

Last week, we learned about the letter E. We also spent most of the week learning about Easter and what our Savior did for us! It is still so amazing to me that Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior, died for our sins, but then proved His power over death by rising from the grave! - There is no greater love. Victoria is so cute. One day she said, "I didn't want Jesus to die, but I am so glad He is alive again!" We also spent a lot of time outside. The weather has been wonderful. The girls even got to help Grandma plant some flowers.

Working hard - Victoria watering the flowers.

Victoria stirring the eggs.
Making Egg and Bacon Breakfast Casserole. I can't remember what Victoria was saying. :)

I almost forgot - Our 4wheeler came last week. Stewart was so happy, but really Elizabeth likes more than anyone else!

I hope all of you had a Happy Easter!

Easter Eggs

About a week before Easter, Elizabeth West and her daugther, Maddy, plus her sister, Crystal, and her two boys, Ian and Daniel, came over to the house. We did an Easter egg hunt and dyed Easter eggs. We had such a great time. Here are some pictures:

The Letter D

Two weeks ago we learned about the Letter D. It was a fun week. We even got to spend an evening with the Caines' family (Philip and Sarah's). We haven't really done anything this week, except hunting and dying eggs (will post pictures later). Here are some pictures from 2 weeks ago.
We read "Danny and the Dinosaur" and played a dinosaur game for matching up letters.

The girls are coloring the dog part of their headbands. We read "Go Dog, Go!" and "Big Dog, Little Dog"

The headbands!

We also made Doughnuts. The girls love to cook!

Enjoying some doughnut holes.

One our doughnuts.

That is all I have for now. I hope you all had a wonderful two weeks.

Victoria's 3rd Birthday!

On Monday, March 15th, Victoria turned 3 years old. I still can't believe it. She is truly a blessing to Stewart and myself (so is Elizabeth). Here are some pictures from her party (on the 14th) and her birthday. In my family, it is tradition that you get to take a bite out of your birthday cake. (Don't worry, you get the piece you bit).

The cake I made! It is by no means perfect, but I was proud of it. lol.

I love this picture of Elizabeth, she is so funny.

Victoria on her new bike.

Victoria holding up 3 fingers and eating cake!

I had a few more really cute pictures I was going to put up, but for some reason the image loader is freezing up, so these pictures will have to do. We started a new tradition this year. We are going to mark the girls height on their closet door every birthday! And I wanted to thank our family and friends that made it such a great birthday for her by celebrating with us. She had a great birthday.

The Letter C and lots more

This has been a busy week for us. Victoria made the move from crib to her big girl bed. She is loving it. We learned the sound for the letter C, played outside a fair amount, and played board games (Candyland and Memory were the favorites this week). Stewart got to go to the ACC tournament on Thursday. Elizabeth tried learning to ride the tricycle, Victoria went to her first dance class, and I made Victoria a Little Einsteins Rocket cake for her birthday party (will show the pictures after we have her party tomorrow).

The girls really discovered all the fun to be had on their chalkboard this week. One day, they drew on it for almost 2 hours. Victoria has started asking about what one number plus another one is. So I let her pick the numbers- say 4 and 3. Then we write the math problem and draw that many of stars (or something) and let her get the answer. The chalkboard is great for that. For the Letter C, we read "The Cat and the Hat." We did looks of games and activities with this book. Here Victoria is matching the hats and bowties by color. I found this at: http://makinglearningfun.com/themepages/CatintheHatPrintables.htm

Hope you all had a wonderful week as well!
